About the role

The multifaceted role of a Graphic Designer emphasises creativity, collaboration, client and project management, technical skills, and continuous improvement in a dynamic and visually driven way.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Creative Content Development
      • Bring to life design ideas and concepts across web, email, social media, and digital advertising campaigns.
      • Responsible for delivering strong and dynamic content from conception through to final production.
  • Brand and Design Innovation
      • Elevate the design of digital creative output to drive improved engagement and performance.
      • Ensure quality, continuity, brand adherence, and design innovation on all assignments across all communication channels.
  • Design Execution and Collaboration
      • Research, brainstorm, and create concepts in collaboration with design, marketing, web content teams, and relevant clients/stakeholders.
      • Own the build and design process, discussing designs and key deliverables with the team and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Digital and Responsive Design
      • Design for screens across a range of digital devices, incorporating responsive design principles and mobile app interfaces best practices.
      • Create content in accordance with UI/UX guidelines.
      • Create content for web and manage updates via respective CMS
      • Understanding of SEO/PPC and social media for maximum engagement of ads and organic content.
      • Design, build, send and management for Email Marketing (via respective  CRM/software/platforms) campaigns, nurture tracks and cross-funnel marketing.
  • Video, Motion Graphics and Animation
  • Create engaging and complex computer animations for different media platforms.
  • Assist in the creation of animation storyboards and character animations.
  • Prepare conceptual layouts for animation projects, including 2D and 3D animations.
  • Encode, convert, and edit videos, adding effects and elements to enhance motion graphics.
  • Client Interaction and Management
      • Liaise with clients to determine their expectations, requirements, creative vision, and timescale including any budget-related constraints.
      • Manage client proposals from typesetting through to graphic design, print, and production.
      • Work with clients’ ideas and manage their expectations.
      • Prepare rough drafts of material based on an agreed brief and review final layouts, suggesting improvements if required.
      • Keep clients up-to-date, listen to and act on feedback, and explain the rationale behind graphic design decisions.
      • Prepare reports for creative and marketing activity, analytics, and performance, including UX improvements and management of A/B testing.
  • Project Management
      • Ensure you are up-to-date with your schedule, current and upcoming projects and understand any budget constraints.
      • Check daily workload, meet daily tasks, and flag any concerns to respective PM of running overtime on delivering assets.
      • Study design briefs and determine requirements.
      • Conceptualise visuals based on requirements and prepare rough drafts to present ideas.
  • Visual Content Creation
      • Develop illustrations, logos, and other designs using software or by hand.
      • Use the appropriate colours and layouts for each graphic.
      • Test graphics across various media and amend designs after feedback.
      • Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand.
  • Collaboration and Feedback Implementation
      • Work with copywriters and creative directors to produce final designs.
      • Have the ability to receive, interpret, and implement constructive feedback into design work.
      • Produce drafts for client review and make revisions based on feedback received.
      • Collaborate with clients, Creative and Art Directors, creative team, and marketing team members throughout the various phases of a project.
  • Technical Skills and Software Proficiency
      • Create designs using Adobe Creative Suite including but not limited to Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, software for Graphic Design as well as Premier Pro, After Effects and Animate for video and motion graphics, and further tools such as Figma and MS Office suite.
      • Select colours, images, typography, and layout for communication materials, including websites, logos, signs, books, magazine covers, annual reports, advertisements, and social media posts.
      • Use digital graphic design software to create graphic images and design layouts that communicate company messaging and achieve artistic or decorative effects.
  • Quality Control and Trend Awareness
      • Review final graphic designs for errors before publishing.
      • Keep up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies.
      • Liaise with external printers or production teams to ensure deadlines are met and material is printed or presented to the highest quality.
  • Proactive Improvement and Communication
    • Be proactive in researching and proposing ways to improve all content.
    • Be punctual, quick to respond, and communicate efficiently, by telephone, email, instant messaging, in writing, or in person as required.
    • Complete a daily timesheet and/or allocate times to respective tasks in PM software.
    • Advise clients on strategies to engage target audiences and identify the best ways to illustrate and communicate clients’ vision while complying with design best practices.
